JASON ELIE

I began training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2014 while stationed in Adana, Turkey. What started as a group of military friends training MMA after watching a UFC fight quickly became a lifelong passion. As a former high school wrestler, I immediately felt at home on the mats.

After relocating to the United States, I continued my training at Modern American Mixed Martial Arts in Hampton, Virginia under Professor Mike Bilovach, a black belt under Regan Machado. Following my retirement from the United States Air Force, I moved to Canada, where I earned my blue belt in 2018 under Professor Hossin Zahari, a black belt under Rodrigo Munduruca. I later trained under Professor Padro Saur, a black belt under Carlson Gracie Jr., continuing to develop my foundation in the art.

In 2019, I relocated to San Diego, California — widely regarded as the modern-day mecca of Jiu-Jitsu — where I began training under Professor Anthony Caravelli, a black belt under Eduardo Telles. Under his guidance, I continued my journey from blue belt to black belt.

Throughout the years, I have competed in multiple tournaments, earning medals along the way. Competition has sharpened my technique, strengthened my mindset, and reinforced the values Jiu-Jitsu instills — discipline, resilience, humility, and continuous growth.

For me, Jiu-Jitsu has been more than a martial art. It has been a constant through military service, career transitions, fatherhood, and personal development. The journey continues.
